Students from Crowborough’s Beacon Academy taking their GCSE, A-Level and other exams, have once again been treated to free pre-exam breakfast.

The aim of the breakfasts is to support students throughout the exam season in a calm, positive and welcoming environment. Available each morning during the formal exam period, the provision supports students in Years 11 and 13, ensuring they are well fed, hydrated and fully supported before their exams begin.

Breakfasts and pre‑exam snacks are organised by the school’s Year 11 and Sixth Form teams, with departmental staff and members of the Senior Leadership Team also present to offer encouragement, reassurance and answer any last‑minute questions.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Students benefit not only from nutritious food but also from the opportunity to revise together and receive support from staff and peers.”

Students are offered a range of healthy options including pastries, yoghurt, fresh fruit and breakfast bars, alongside tea, coffee, juice or water. Additional snacks and refreshments are provided to support Year 13 students during the exam period.

The spokesperson said the academy wanted to thank community groups for helping to make it possible. “The Academy extends its sincere thanks to The Rotary Club of Crowborough for their generous £300 donation, which has made a significant contribution to this year’s provision. We’re also grateful to Crowborough Community Pantry for supplying baked goods, and to Chartwells, the school’s catering partner, for donating fresh fruit and bottled water.

“Further thanks go to the Morrisons Crowborough Community Champion, who has supported the initiative by setting up a donation trolley in store to collect essential items for students. The Academy appreciates all donations received from the local community.”
