It has been a good month for this amazing bird. Having arrived at Folly Wildlife Rescue near Eridge at death’s door, the magnificent red kite has been nursed back to health and safely released back into the skies above East Sussex.

The team at Folly were joined by licensed bird ringers from BTO British Trust for Ornithology who, as well as ringing the kite, recorded measurements including wing and tail length, and assessed his age and sex. The stunning bird was a 2+ year old male, with a wing length of 475mm and a tail length of 320mm.
