After weeks of road closures and diversions, residents and motorists wanting to use the A267 face yet more disruption.
The road around Argos Hill was closed for several weeks while a major gas main was replaced, now East Sussex Highways says it will be carrying out “targeted carriageway patching” and other works on the road near Mark Cross.
The latest work, scheduled for 1 to 13 June. Will mean overnight closures of the A267.
Balfour Beatty, the East Sussex Highways contractor, said: “We will be carrying out targeted carriageway patching, carriageway cover replacements, and road marking refreshments, to improve the overall condition of the carriageway.”
The spokesperson said they would be working from Danegate Road to Catts Hill. “The road will be closed to traffic while we are working from 8pm to 6am, with a signed diversion route in place via Bunny Lane, the A26 and the A22.”
The contractor warned there may be some disruption for residents. “For safety, access to properties within the works area will need to be limited and managed during our working hours. If you need access, please speak to the team on site as arrangements and routes may change as works progresses.
“There could be a delay while the area is made safe for you to pass, and your vehicle may be escorted by site marshalls. This is for properties with direct access within the closure area only, and there will be no through route.”
