Fly-tipping hotspot near Crowborough

There were 143 incidents of fly-tipping in the Wealden area in the three months to the end of February, according to a new report.

And in the report from the Joint Waste Partnership – which covers Hastings, Rother and Wealden councils – Eridge Lane in Rotherfield is identified as a fly-tipping hotspot.

The quarterly report from Biffa, the waste contractor, is due to be presented to Wealden councillors on Friday (11 April).

In it, Biffa says there were a total of 339 fly-tipping incidents in the Hastings, Rother and Wealden areas between Dec 2024 and Feb 2025. Of those 143 were in Wealden – 46 in December, 56 in January, and 41 in February.
