The Beacon Academy headteacher has praised sixth formers for the “challenges they have faced and overcome, the determination they have shown, and the maturity they have developed” as they collected their A-level results today.
Keith Slattery said the school was delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Year 13 cohort, whose commitment and effort have been rewarded with strong results in their A Level and vocational qualifications.
“As our Year 13 students close this chapter of their time at school, we want to take a moment to celebrate everything they have achieved, and more importantly, the amazing people they have become. This is not just about grades or exams; it is about the challenges they have faced and overcome, the determination they have shown, and the maturity they have developed along the way.” He said.
“Our students have worked incredibly hard across all their subjects. Whether they are off to university, starting an apprenticeship, or entering the world of work, each student leaves with experiences that have shaped who they are – resilient, independent, and ready for what comes next. These results tell stories of determination, goals reached, and obstacles overcome.”
Mr Slattery added that he wanted to the families, staff, and everyone in our school community who had supported the students throughout their journey.
But his main message was for the students themselves. “We are so proud of you. You have made your mark, not just through your achievements, but through your kindness, your energy, and everything you have brought to school life. The future is wide open, and we know you will take it on with confidence and purpose. Congratulations on everything you have achieved so far.”
