The national anthem was played as the Armed Forces flag was raised and Crowborough marked Armed Forces Day this morning (Saturday, 28 June).
The event, on Montargis Terrace, brought together residents, representatives from the armed forces, the Crowborough and District Veterans Association, the Air Cadets, the Royal British Legion, and Crowborough Town Council.
The Mayor, Cllr Natalie Whittle spoke of the town’s “proud and enduring” association with the armed forces at the ceremony which is held to recognised and celebrate the role of the armed forces both past and present.
