Crowborough firefighters were among the six crews who tackled a blaze in Heathfield in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, 28 Sept).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in Nettlesworth Lane just after midnight and six fire engines attended the scene. Two main jets were used to bring the flames under control.
Police are now investigating the cause of the fire and have appealed for anyone with information to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 7 of 28/09.
Nearby residents were advised to avoid the area while emergency services worked through the night. By 4am firefighters were damping down remaining hotspots and by 5am all firefighting operations were complete.
A reinspection of the property is planned for later today to ensure the fire is fully extinguished and the incident has now been handed over to Sussex Police, who also attended. No details about the cause of the fire or any injuries have yet been released.
The pumps attending included Crowborough, Hailsham, Herstmonceux, Uckfield, Eastbourne, Broad Oak, and the ESFRS Command Support Unit.
