A free Crowborough support group for people going through relationship breakdowns starts a new course in October.
For more than 20 years Mark Bishop and other facilitators have run Aquila self-help groups for those who have or are going through relationship breakdown.
The groups are run over seven weeks and looks together at topics such as what to tell the children, coping with singleness, dealing with emotions, regaining self-esteem and more. The next one starts on Monday, 6 October.
Mark said: “It’s not a dating group but over the years people attending the groups have made lasting friendships and often continue to meet long after their initial seven weeks. As well as group meetings we also have barbeques, theatre trips, walks and other get togethers.”
He added that it might not be easy to join a group but it is worth it. “Although for most it is not a group they would ever want to join, those that do frequently say it is the best thing they did once their relationship broke down. Of course, there are tears but there is much laughter and camaraderie along the way.”
The groups are non-judgemental, confidential and are for any relationship breakdown no matter how short or long ago. They are free and open to any adult, Mark said.
The next group starts on Monday 6th October at 7.45- 9.45pm. Visit: http://www.hope-after-heartbreak.co.uk
